FORM IS KING!
Cynthia joined me today for Base & Back! We had an incredible workout.
My focus was entirely on proper form and maximum power in all of the plyometric exercises. While doing this workout last week I had a epiphany to get out of my own head and forget about going for maximum reps. Instead, I should be focusing on proper form. By keeping my attention on correct form the workout became that much more effective (and harder I might add). My legs and back are going to be very sore tomorrow.
Today, I really felt that deep muscle burn by going deep and exploding in all of the plyo movements. As far as my pull-ups were concerned, my focus was to slow down and go for full extension and maximum pull. I realized that by going for max reps, I was cheating myself and using my momentum to pull instead of my lats, core, shoulders and arms.
Lesson learned: Get out of your own head about reps and weights. Drop the ego and focus on proper form, deep/explosive movements and slowing down with full extension. As a result your fitness gains will exponentially improve!
