I enter the final "Performance" phase of P90X2 next Monday. I am both intimidated and excited by the PAP (Post-Activation Potentiation) workouts. From what I understand it will be exceptionally challenging and I am all for that!

Some Thoughts On Phase 1 & 2 - P90X2
Today marks the beginning of the final week of P90X2 phase 2! Overall, I have enjoyed this second "Strength" phase more than the first "Foundation" phase. The reason for this is because the second phase has a high level of nostalgic familiarity with the original P90X incorporating an abundance of push up and pull up variations throughout. My favorite workout from this phase is definitely Base & Back. It is non-stop plyometric and pull up action. You get a simultaneous leg, back/arm, and interval conditioning workout all in one 56 minute whack! However, I must reiterate from one of my earlier entries: It is crucial to complete the "Foundation" phase of this exercise program with an adequate level of proficiency before moving on. The "Strength" phase would be next to impossible without the balance and core development from the initial phase. This becomes very apparent with routines like Chest + Back + Balance and Shoulders & Arms. The point is to make the most out of your current phase. Focus on proper form and take as much time as you need. Don't be in a rush and enjoy the journey.
