Recovery Week: Chest + Back + Balance + Modifications
I elected to incorporate a recovery week prior to starting the final "endurance" phase of P90X2. I did this for a couple of reasons. First, this final phase incorporates "post-activation potentiation" training (I'll share some feedback about P.A.P in a future post). The P.A.P. workouts are going to be exceptionally challenging. I want to make certain that I have sufficient time to fully preview and understand the workouts before I begin them. Secondly, my wife and I are traveling to Savannah, GA with some good friends for a long weekend escape. We will be doing some workouts from INSANITY while at the hotel. These workouts are the perfect option when traveling (killer workouts, minimal space and no equipment).
Today I decided to do Chest + Back + Balance with some simple modifications. These modifications will not only mix up the workout, (muscle confusion), but will also allow me to get in more repetitions. I will be able to increase my reps by minimizing some the required stabilization components of each movement.
