WHY IS TRAINING YOUR CORE SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR HEALTH?


Day 43 of my hybrid (P90X2 - X2 CORE):

Why is this workout so important?
  • I have said it before and I'll say it again; your core IS the foundation of your fitness!
  • Working your core will improve your push-ups, pull-ups, squats and curls.
  • You'll look thinner.
  • Your balance will improve.
  • Core training is not crunches! It is not just about working the abs. Core training supports your spine, back, glutes and legs so that the burden of supporting your body isn't placed only on your bones and joints.
  • It is not about looking good in a bathing suit. This is only a beneficial byproduct. 
  • Core training is medicine for your body as you age. It will keep you healthy. It will prevent knee and back pain/injury.
So, what does a core workout look like if it isn't all about crunches?
